De Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV plug-in hybride staat vanaf 2012 in de showroom van de dealer. De plug-in hybride SUV is immens populair. Met de komst van de derde generatie van de Mitsubishi Outlander is ook een variant met een plug-in hybride aandrijving geïntroduceerd: de Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle). De Outlander PHEV is de eerste plug-in SUV ter wereld. De auto is een echte SUV, met de hoge zit en veel ruimte binnenin, zoals je dat gewend bent van de Outlander. De vernuftige technologie zorgt voor een optimale gebruik van de energie, die zowel de benzine- als elektromotoren afgeven. De Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is een veilige auto met alle 5 sterren in de Euro NCAP test. De auto is bijzonder zuinig en schoon (lage uitstoot), dat er gunstige financiële voorwaarden van toepassing zijn.
Design
Het design van de Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is strak, elegant en krachtig. De grille en koplampen zijn harmonieus geïntegreerd in het strakke lijnenspel. De units van de koplampen en achterlichten zijn elegant. Bij het ontwerp is er optisch evenwicht gevonden tussen het formaat van de auto en het feit dat een auto als deze hoog op de grote lichtmetalen wielen staat!

De Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is verkrijgbaar in verschillende standaard uitrustingsniveaus. Het instapmodel is al ruim voorzien van veel luxe en comfort. De Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV beschikt over een 2.0 liter 4 cilinder MIVEC benzinemotor (89 kW/121 pk) en een tweetal elektromotoren (60 kW/82 pk). De benzinemotor is gekoppeld aan een generator en kan beide elektromotoren van stroom voorzien. Daarnaast kan de verbrandingsmotor de voorwielen aandrijven. Je kunt zelf schakelen tussen volledig elektrisch rijden (EV Drive Mode) of gecombineerd op de benzine- en elektromotor. Wil jij de benzinemotor ondersteunend laten zijn aan de elektromotor (Series Hybrid Mode)? Of liever de elektromotor de benzinemotor laten ondersteunen (Parallel Hybrid Mode)? Vanzelfsprekend heeft de Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV vernuftige techniek aan boord om zo optimaal mogelijk gebruik te maken van de beschikbare energie.
Het opladen van de Outlander PHEV gebeurt enerzijds tijdens het rijden door de verbrandingsmotor en via een regeneratief remsysteem. Anderzijds is de Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV een plug-in hybride en kan dus ook aan de kabel worden opgeladen. Thuis opladen kan in elk willekeurig stopcontact. Opladen duurt dan circa 5 uur. Je kunt de Outlander PHEV ook opladen aan publieke laadpalen. Dit duurt circa 3 uur. Koppel je de auto aan een snellaadpaal, dan is het opladen gereduceerd tot een halfuur.
Concurrentie
De Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV plug-in hybride SUV kent (nog) niet veel concurrentie. Dat wil zeggen, auto’s met vergelijkbare comfort, mogelijkheden en techniek, tegen de gunstige prijs of financiële voorwaarden bij lease. Er zijn SUV modellen met plug-in hybride aandrijving van premium automerken, zoals de BMW X5 xDrive40e, Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine en de Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid. Ook merken als Audi en Mercedes-Benz komen met een plug-in hybride SUV. Je hebt het hier echter over auto’s van premium niveau: ongekende prestaties en een bijbehorend prijskaartje.
Prijzen en bijtelling
Een nieuwe Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV rijd je al vanaf €39.990,-. Rijd je de auto zakelijk en privé, dan is de bijtelling voor privé gebruik van de Outlander PHEV slechts 7% (in fiscale wet- en regelgeving in Nederland in 2015). Dat komt door de gecombineerde CO2-uitstoot van slechts 44 gram per kilometer.
