In 2010 is de Toyota Auris Hybrid geïntroduceerd. Het betreft een hybride uitvoering van de in 2007 op de markt gebrachte Auris. Vanaf 2013 is er een tweede generatie van de auto en vanzelfsprekend ontbreekt de hybride variant niet . Tevens komt er een stationwagon uitvoering. In 2015 komt een geheel nieuwe Toyota Auris en dus ook een nieuwe Toyota Auris Hybrid op de markt. (NB: bovenstaande afbeelding is van Toyota Auris 2014).
Toyota Auris Hybrid
De Toyota Auris wordt in 2007 op de markt gebracht. Het is de opvolger van de succesvolle Toyota Corolla, die decennia lang de middenklasse in het assortiment van de Japanse autofabrikant vormde. De campagne van de Auris is groots aangepakt. En niet zonder succes, want wereldwijd verkoopt de Auris heel goed, mede door het betrouwbare image dat Toyota heeft opgebouwd.
In 2010 komt er ook een uitvoering van de auto met hybride aandrijving. De Auris Hybrid maakt gebruik van de beproefde techniek van de uitermate succesvolle Prius. Anders dan bij de Prius, die vanaf de tekentafel is ontworpen voor hybride aandrijving, is de Toyota Auris een bestaand model, welke later is voorzien is van hybride aandrijving. In 2013 wordt de nieuwe generatie Auris gelanceerd, welke in 2015 wordt opgevolgd door de geheel nieuwe Toyota Auris, die natuurlijk ook met hybride aandrijving beschikbaar komt.
Design
Het design van de nieuwe Toyota Auris Hybrid is flink onder handen genomen. Ten opzichte van de vorige Auris, oogt de auto breder en krachtiger. De nieuwe Auris is verkrijgbaar als vijfdeurs hatchback en als stationwagon, door Toyota ‘Touring Sports’ of kortweg ‘TS’ genaamd. De grille heeft een chromen lijst en loopt vloeiend over in de koplampunits, die optioneel van LED verlichting en dagrijverlichting zijn voorzien.
De lijn vanuit de grille loopt via de koplampunits door over de gehele flank van de auto en sluit daar weer aan op de achterlichtunits, die op hun beurt fraai zijn geïntegreerd in de imposante achterkant van de auto. Een dikke achterbumper geeft de auto veel body. Niet alleen aan de buitenzijde, maar ook binnenin de auto heeft het designteam van Toyota veel werk verricht. Het resultaat mag er zijn.
Uitrusting
De nieuwe Toyota Auris Hybrid is verkrijgbaar in meerdere uitrustingsniveaus:

De standaarduitrusting van de nieuwe Toyota Auris Hybrid is de Comfort: 15” lichtmetalen wielen, climate control, start/stop, 4,2” scherm met multi-information, audio- en telefoonbediening aan stuurwiel, centrale deurvergrendeling, elektrisch instelbare spiegels, audio met Bluetooth en veel systemen die bijdragen aan veiligheid en rijcomfort. De Aspiration heeft 16” wielen, uitgebreidere audio met 7” scherm, cruise control en parkeerhulp achter. De Dynamic uitrusting biedt privacy glas, regen- en lichtsensoren, elektrisch inklapbare buitenspiegels en smart-entry.
Voor de zakelijke rijders zijn de Executive en Lease uitvoeringen samengesteld, die met name zijn gericht op het maken van veel comfortabele kilometers. Zo kan de Auris worden uitgerust met uitgebreide navigatie, lederen bekleding en een prachtig skyview dak. Er is altijd een nieuwe Toyota Auris Hybrid die past bij jouw wensen. En mis je toch nog iets? Dan zijn de vele opties en accessoires tegen meerprijs beschikbaar, zodat jij de auto verder kunt aankleden en uitrusten geheel naar wens.

De nieuwe Toyota Auris Hybrid heeft een 1.8 liter VVT-i benzinemotor (99 pk) in combinatie met een elektromotor (81 pk). Deze leveren een gecombineerd vermogen van 136 pk. De transmissie wordt verzorgd door een CVT automaat. De uitstoot van de nieuwe Auris Hybrid in hatchback uitvoering is 82 gram uitstoot per kilometer. Alleen de Comfort uitrusting heeft een iets lagere waarde (79 gram voor hatchback en 81 gram voor TS, met name vanwege de 15” wielen in tegenstelling tot 16” onder de andere uitrustingen. Ook het brandstofverbruik is een fractie lager bij de Comfort uitrusting.
Opladen van de accu’s gebeurt door gewoon te rijden in de auto. De energie die vrijkomt bij het afremmen op de motor, wordt door de elektromotor teruggegeven aan de accu in de vorm van stroom. De elektromotor heeft in dit geval de functie van dynamo. Dit recuperatieve remsysteem zorgt ervoor dat je eigenlijk niets extra hoeft te doen om de accu te laden, zodat de elektromotor kan bijdragen aan knappe prestaties en schoner rijden.
Concurrentie
De nieuwe Toyota Auris Hybrid heeft concurrentie van andere (plug-in) hybride aangedreven auto’s in de compacte en middenklasse. De spoeling is relatief dun, omdat de relatief dure techniek alleen commercieel succesvol uitgerold kan worden als je het groots aanpakt. Toyota is daar vroegtijdig (met de Prius) mee gestart en heeft een flinke voorsprong op andere merken. Vooral de Auris TS Hybrid is vrij uniek: veel ruimte en toch hybride!
Je kunt als alternatief voor een Auris Hybrid denken aan: Honda Jazz Hybrid, Peugeot 3008 hybrid4 of Citroen DS5 Hybrid4. Daarnaast zijn er plug-in hybride modellen als een Audi A3 e-tron of Ford C-Max. Ook heeft Toyota zelf haar eigen modellen, zoals de kleinere Yaris en grotere Prius met hybride aandrijving.
Prijzen en bijtelling
Je rijdt al in een nieuwe Toyota Auris Hybrid vanaf € 24.395,-. Vanwege de gunstige waarden betreffende CO2 uitstoot, komt de nieuwe Auris in aanmerking voor korting in de bijtelling. De nieuwe Toyota Auris Hybrid valt in de 14% bijtelling (in fiscale wet- en regelgeving 2015), wat de auto interessant maakt voor de zakelijke markt.
