De Toyota Prius Wagon is een hybride midi-MPV van het Japanse automerk Toyota. De Toyota Prius Wagon borduurt voort op het succes van de Prius en is in 2012 op de markt gebracht. Het is de eerste auto die ruimte en hybride rijden combineert en op de markt brengt. De Toyota Prius Wagon heeft zelfs zeven zitplaatsen.
Toyota Prius Wagon
De Toyota Prius met hybride aandrijving is een enorm succes. Het is lange tijd één van de weinige modellen op de consumentenmarkt met een dergelijke aandrijving. Vanaf 1997 tot heden wordt de Toyota Prius nog altijd als één van de beste verkochte en meest innovatieve auto’s op het gebied van (semi-) elektrisch autorijden gezien. Niet verwonderlijk dat men ook is gaan nadenken over meer andere mogelijkheden met deze Prius. De Toyota Prius Wagon en een plug-in hybride uitvoering zijn hier voorbeelden van. In 2012 is de Prius Wagon (ook wel Prius+ of Prius Plus genoemd) geïntroduceerd.
De Toyota Prius Wagon is een verruimde uitvoering van de Toyota Prius. De auto is langer, breder en heeft een hogere daklijn die doorloopt tot aan de achterzijde van de auto. Door deze grotere afmeting, heeft de Toyota Prius Wagon meer binnenruimte welke flexibel gebruikt kan worden! De auto heeft zeven zitplaatsen. Het was bij introductie in 2012 de enige auto met hybride aandrijving én met deze mogelijkheid. Toyota wilde hiermee het grotere gezin aanspreken.
Design
De in 2012 geïntroduceerde Toyota Prius Wagon is gebouwd op basis van de Prius van de derde generatie. In 2014 heeft de Prius Wagon een opfrisbeurt gekregen. Vooral aan de voorzijde heeft men de auto flink onder handen genomen met een nieuwe bumper, grille en koplampen. Deze zaken bepalen in sterke mate het gezicht van een auto, waarbij de nieuwe Toyota Prius Wagon nu een wat meer agressief uiterlijk heeft gekregen ten opzichte van zijn voorganger.
Uitrusting
De nieuwe Toyota Prius Wagon is verkrijgbaar in twee uitvoeringen:
- Aspiration
- Dynamic Business
Met de Toyota Prius Wagon in de Aspiration kun je zonder zorgen de weg op. De auto is standaard rijk en veilig uitgerust. Zo heeft een Toyota Prius Wagon standaard: automaat, panoramadak, cruise control, climate control, regensensor, uitgebreide bediening vanaf het stuurwiel. De Dynamic Business uitvoering is ten opzichte van de Aspiration extra uitgerust met opties en accessoires die het met name de zakelijke rijder aangenamer moeten maken. Denk aan het 7” Toyota Touch Pro navigatiesysteem, heads-up display, meer uitgebreide audio, stoelverwarming, Adaptive Cruise Control, intelligent parking assist met parkeerhulpcamera, LED-verlichting.
Techniek / motoren
- Topsnelheid: 165 kilometer per uur
- Acceleratie (0-100 km/u): 11,3 seconden
- Gecombineerd vermogen: 136 pk
- Gemiddelde CO2-uitstoot: 95 gram per kilometer
De nieuwe Toyota Prius Wagon heeft een 1.8 liter VVT-i benzinemotor (99 pk) en een elektromotor (81,6 pk). Samen leveren zij de auto een vermogen van 136 pk. De Toyota Prius Wagon heeft standaard een automatische transmissie en is op de voorwielen aangedreven. De elektromotor ondersteunt de verbrandingsmotor en draagt bij aan een lagere CO2 uitstoot en een lager brandstofverbruik. Gemiddeld verbruikt de Prius Wagon 4,1 liter brandstof per 100 gereden kilometers. De accu’s zijn in de Toyota Prius Wagon keurig weggewerkt. Deze worden opgeladen tijdens het rijden, door middel van het recuperatieve remsysteem. Bij minderen van snelheid gaat de elektromotor als dynamo fungeren en zet het vrijkomende remenergie om in stroom, welke wordt opgeslagen in de accu.
Concurrentie
De Toyota Prius Wagon kent inmiddels meerdere concurrenten op de markt. Wanneer je uitkijkt naar een hybride auto met veel binnenruimte, dan zijn onder andere de nieuwe Toyota Auris Wagon, Peugeot 3008, Citroen DS5 of de Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV een optie. Let wel, deze auto’s bieden geen van allen de mogelijkheid tot zeven zitplaatsen in de hybride aangedreven uitvoering.
Prijzen en bijtelling
Een nieuwe Toyota Prius Wagon heb je al vanaf € 31.495,-. Met een CO2-emissie van 95 gram per kilometer valt de Toyota Prius Wagon in de fiscale wet- en regelgeving 2015 in de 20% bijtelling en in 2016 in de 21% bijtelling.
